WHO I AM
All About Fitness

My health journey started when I was 25 after I just had my first child. I had this beautiful baby girl that I wanted to raise to be healthy and strong and to appreciate and love her body, but felt ill qualified to do that since I didn't feel that way about myself. I knew something needed to change and for the first time I finally felt ready to do the work. For the next year I focused on changing my eating habits and was able to lose 80 pounds. From my new found knowledge I was able to maintain my weight for the next two years which included a second pregnancy. I definitely felt better, but still felt like something was missing.
At age 28 I decided to finally conquer the unknown and started training with a personal trainer at my local gym. I had no idea how much that decision was going to change my life. I can't really put into words all that my trainer, Will, did for me. He helped me build confidence and passion in something I never thought I would. It's crazy to think back on that day and see that one seemingly small decision made me who I am today.

When I first started my fitness journey my focus was mostly appearance based. I figured that if I wanted to be happier and feel better about my body then the appearance of it needed to change. Now there is nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight or have muscle definition, but as I've learned over the years; fitness is about so much more than that.
Not long into my journey my perspective started to change. Although yes, outwardly my body was starting to look different, the biggest and best change was inward. At the end of every training session I felt better because I had accomplished something difficult. I was starting to be able to do things I never thought I would do. My confidence in myself and what I was capable of was growing. I was pushing myself harder because I believed I could do it.
I started JF Fitness in 2020 so that I could help people feel the same way I do about fitness and nutrition and hopefully have a similar impact on my clients that my prior personal trainer had on me. THIS is what I want to instill in my clients; fitness and health is about so much more than your physical appearance.
